Love our dachshund, Max. He runs our life, but that is just fine. Over the years he brought and brings us so much joy! They are smart dogs and their mind runs like a Swiss clock. Funny, entertaining pranksters. My half dachshund rescue sneaks in the bathroom while I am showering and steals my clothes which he hides all over the house. Really!! But please let it be known…they are prone to bad back issues and other orthopedic problems. Ah, they’re just the best wee doggies in the world. I couldn’t imagine my life without my little fursausage. He’s the funniest, most stubborn and cheeky doxie ever.
I found my Roxy almost ten years ago. She wasn’t chipped, and nobody answered all the “found dog” ads I put up all over the neighborhood so I kept her. I took her to the vet and she had some ribs that were broken and healed, so the vet thinks she ran away because she was abused. I never thought I’d have a miniature long-haired dachshund, but she’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. She’s loyal, and she doesn’t take crap from anyone—no matter how much bigger they are than her. She’s getting older, but it hasn’t stopped her from being her rambunctious self. I love my Roxy the doxy, and couldn’t imagine life without her!
