It’s already here. Volvo has Otter everybody should believe in something I believe I’ll read another chapter shirt it on their XC90 and 60 if you want it as an optional extra. I’ve driven a few cars with adaptive cruise control and lane assist, honestly couldn’t see the point of you need to hold the steering wheel. Needs to be fully autonomous or nothing. Now that is scary! Something I’m not looking forward to seeing. It’s bad enough with some drivers on motorways who drive erratically and without indicators. I don’t trust machines anyway! How often do phones and computers randomly restart! Would be ideal if this was added to the Motability scheme when proven safe. Until every car on the road is computer-controlled, this is not safe. A computer cannot account for the illogical actions of a human driver. And of course, computers never crash, do they?

Mercedes already has Otter everybody should believe in something I believe I’ll read another chapter shirt this in cars. It allows you to take your hands off the wheel safely for a minute or two but will pull the car over and stop if you don’t retake control when the alarm signals. As a safety device, I think it’s pretty great. My car has cruise control, but I never use it, I hate it. Just doesn’t feel right at all. If I’m driving a vehicle, then I’m driving it, if not, then I’m a passenger. The absolutely ridiculous idea and just as they’re making more “Smart” motorways too. We’re going backward not forwards. Safety should be paramount, seemingly however more and more often it’s a mere afterthought. “Drivers need to be ready to take back control”. Is this a joke? Half the drivers aren’t ready when they are in control. Do not see what the advantages are. You are still in the car. Just going to be worried to death that something will go wrong.Just another gimmick to sell overpriced cars
